There is a lot of angst in the world of late. What causes more concerns are any indication of change of direction of the USA’s allegiances and goals. Yes, perception and rhetoric do matter because they cause change in attitudes and actions taken. They also cause a change in expectation from those engaging.
Sadly, human beings can and continue to be very cruel to each other. In most cases the underlying drivers are greed and power. Studying history reveals this fact to us and looking to the current world dynamics you can see that this does not change.
In recent years, we have seen massive manifestation of the poor and downtrodden in Cuba and Venezuela rise up and shout, begging for freedom and justice from the dictatorships under which they live. Their wishes and hopes are for the international community to care enough to intervene and help them get that freedom they seek from the oppressive dictatorships.
However, the United Nations, the agency that claims to exist to help bring peace and harmony in this world does nothing of the sort. They are often the supporters of these dictatorships. Their constant machinations to control the people themselves as if they have rights given to them by God, is an affront to the people of this world. It is so obvious that since the 1980s I have recall often hearing cries for the dissolution of this group of international gangsters which no one voted, for who ply their trade of graft and collusion with no repercussions.
This is why it should not have been a surprise when the United Nations appears to have used funding meant for the assistance and wellbeing of the Palestinians in Gaza to build tunnels for use of the Hamas dictatorship who rule with terror and bloodshed. To support a group whose primary purpose seems to be the destruction of an entire race of human beings should obviously be an affront to the entire international community. But it is not, in fact this was quickly buried or as we now call it downgraded so that no one searching will ever find the specific information.
In the USA in the last year, we have seen support for Hamas and its terrorist sympathizers. Something unimaginable just 10 years ago. Most people in this country are aware that these are for the most part ignorant and some paid for malfeasants hired or attracted in the name of justice for the so-called genocide of the Palestinians for a war that Hamas started on October 7 of last year 2023. These same people have taken all the monies and healthy living that Gaza could have made with their businesses and took them for the use of their goal of the destruction of Israel and ipso facto the USA as well, as we are viewed as one by them and their supporters such as Iran and Hezbollah.
Then of course, we must look at the instability of eastern Europe which affects all of Europe. The Russian-Ukrainian war in which the USA has decidedly taken part using the Ukraine’s people as a proxy to fight a war that we have caused to happen by our meddling. There is no doubt that Putin himself is a dictator and causing great suffering to the Russian and Ukrainian people. There is no doubt whatever that under different leadership the situation would be much different. But even in this situation, the United Nations has done absolutely nothing to help bring peace and stability in the region. The USA and the war machine are also being blamed for the continued proliferation of this war and the lack of gumption by the global powers to seek peace. What is it that these countries are fighting about? Why can’t there be a peaceful solution? In this day and age, you would believe that two countries who are not too dissimilar can find a peaceful solution. Yet nothing seems to progress as people continue to die on both sides for what appears from our vantage point to be fruitless conflict where no one will win. In fact, the biggest danger is the contagion of war may spread.
This war has also other residual effects such as the damage done to the economies of both Germany and Europe as a whole. The gas pipeline from Russia to the Germany was a major milestone which alleviated energy concerns for the region. With its destruction during the war, it has increased their costs and security. This is no small issue that is creating unhappiness throughout most of Europe with a major economic slowdown.
Then across the big pond we have the USA which continues to overextend itself financially and globally. Then US debt is astronomical and continues to grow with no end in sight. With the coming elections, it does not matter which party gets in the debt is already a major burden. Neither party has shown any restraint in the last twenty years to control the budget. In fact, many wonder, is there really a budget at all or is this only a game we play with ourselves? No matter what the truth more and more people lack confidence in the continuation of the USA as the center of global commerce though it still remains the largest economy thanks to the innovation of the people and industry not the Federal government which is itself an albatross on the well-being of the country.
One more point that needs to be made about economies and global currencies is that the seizure of Russian assets around the world has caused an unexpected domino effect. Other countries around the world are now in the process of working out solutions around the US dollar-based markets to avoid the risk of US interference or intervention in their affairs. The leader of course is the greatest competitive threat to the USA which is China. The funny thing is the USA helped China get on its feet giving them favored-nation status in the end of the last century and now we are getting repaid with the undermining of the dollar as the primary instrument of exchange in the global markets.
Whether or not a BRICs (Brazil, Russia, China and India) currency or something not too dissimilar is launched, which has not come to fruition yet, but it is certainly in the works happens soon will be something many people are looking at. Right now, the fastest growing major economy is that of India and so they will play a major role in what develops in that arena. Still, this remains a potential destabilizing agent for the world economy.
The world will not end anytime soon and not because of our futile efforts to save “planet earth” but more because of how inconsequential we really are to the planet. Human life will continue to grow and care for itself even with the horrors of cruel dictatorships and corrupt governments that run amok around the globe.
If all these little reminders did not alert you to “there is something rotten in Denmark” as the phrase goes. Then nothing will lull you out of your stupor. Not even censorship on a global scale, the enslavement of the population as human beings are considered utilitarian and only exist to serve those who are the self-proclaimed leaders. The exact opposite of the experiment known as the USA which is supposed to be a self-governing body by the people for the people. Though many politicians want to usurp our founding documents to give themselves more power over the people.
Those who are truly awake to reality and not some fanciful interpretation of black and white, are taking actions to protect their assets as best they can. A great number of people who never considered gold or any precious metals as part of their financial strategy have now changed their opinions and are more and more increasing their holdings in these commodities. Because these commodities are time tested. They have been in circulation and demand for over 5,000 years and will likely not be replaced any time in our short life span. The younger generation and some not so young are also adding Bitcoin to their strategy as the expectation is that at some time in the future it will reach global adoption as a currency.
No matter which path you choose, it is clear that we live in a world of turmoil with the threat of growing value destruction on the horizon. With that in mind, a wise person must consider strategies that are typically outside their box.
